I Wouldn't Have Missed - Project

If you've come here from CardMaker magazine, welcome! This is where you will find the instructions for the card in the May Special Issue of CardMaker Magazine.

Card Project

Thumbnail links to the products are at the bottom of the project.

  1. We begin with a 5x7" folded card.
  2. Choose a set of co-ordinating paper, such as shown in the photo (I used Kaisercraft Blae and Ivy 6-1/2" x 6-1/2" pad)
  3. Cut green cardstock to 4-3/4" x 6-3/4". Adhere to card base with double-sided tape
  4. Cut striped decorative paper (green striped) to 4-1/2" x 6". Center this over the green cardstock and glue or tape it down.
  5. Stamp I Wouldn't Have Missed Being Your Friend with Versafine Olympia Green.
  6. Die cut the stamped image with Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two and sponge the edges with Distress Ink Bundled Sage.  Scroll down for detailed images.
  7. Cut a band of lightly patterned paper to 6" x 1" and then another strip of patterned paper (slightly darker) to 6" x 1-1/2".  Adhere the narrower band onto the wider band.
  8. Cut a length of leaf ribbon approximately 7" long and adhere it to the top of the strip you've just made.  Wrap the ends around to the back and tack down. (I used double-sided tape for all this.)
  9. Use Pop Dots to adhere the ribbon-decorated band to the card base.  Position the band so its center is 3" from the top edge of the card.
  10. Use more Pop Dots to adhere the die cut quotation to the ribbon band. Et voila!  This is a great "formula card" which, with a simple change of paper colour, can be made into limitless variations!
